My name is Hannah Zheng. I am deeply honored to return to my alma mater, the AP Center at Jiangsu Changzhou Senior High School, as a teacher. As a proud graduate of this institution, I am immensely grateful for the international education I received here, which placed me on the path to a global perspective from an early age. The AP Center’s diverse curriculum and cross-cultural learning environment not only helped me build a solid academic foundation but also sparked my interest in a wide range of fields.
After graduating from high school, I pursued a major in Mathematics and a minor in Economics at Franklin & Marshall College in the United States. As a renowned liberal arts college, its holistic education and small-class teaching model profoundly influenced my learning style. I was able to focus on my major while also exploring interdisciplinary courses such as Astronomy, Archaeology, World Music History, and Museum Studies. This freedom to explore expanded my knowledge and nurtured my deep interest in languages and cultures. During my undergraduate years, I studied French, Japanese, and Russian, which further enhanced my understanding of the unique value of cross-cultural education.
For my graduate studies, I earned a master’s degree in Learning Sciences and Technologies at the University of Pennsylvania, further broadening my educational horizons. As a member of the Ivy League, Penn’s Graduate School of Education equipped me with systematic approaches to bilingual education and advanced concepts of integrating technology into the classroom. I learned how to optimize instructional design through educational technology, enhance classroom interaction, and create courses tailored to various learning environments, all while leveraging modern educational resources to support diverse student needs.
Throughout my undergraduate and graduate years, I actively engaged in English training and bilingual subject teaching, especially in Math and Econ, teaching university students abroad and middle school students undergoing international education. These experiences deepened my understanding that international education is not just about knowledge transfer but also about preparing students for their future in a globalized world. As an AP Center alum, I am passionate about contributing to the mission of this school and eager to apply my international experience and insights to provide our students with a high-quality international education experience, helping them shine on the global stage.
Outside of teaching, I am also passionate about traveling and photography, and I enjoy capturing moments from my life. Through my travels, I have had the opportunity to immerse myself in different cultures and form friendships with people from around the world. While studying in the U.S., I visited many cities and natural landscapes, experiencing diverse customs and traditions. These experiences have enriched my life and helped me appreciate the importance of cross-cultural exchange.
