Invited by Dipont Education, the admission officers from eight top liberal arts colleges made an official visit to Changzhou Senior High School of Jiangsu Province on May 14, 2012. The President of the Council of American Culture and Education, Dr. Stephen Gessner, hosted the meeting with the school official and the presentation afterwards.
The meeting started with each admission officers introducing themselves to the school staff. The school principal, Mr. Zhang Yaoqi, welcomed them and gave a brief introduction to the school and the city of Changzhou. Mr. Zhang briefed the school’s history, philosophy, and teaching excellence, and emphasized the school’s mission to educate and foster students. On top of that, Mr. Zhang mentioned the AP program and the achievements that have been made since its establishment. The admission officers showed a strong interest in the school by raising questions following the conversation.
After the reception meeting, eight admission officers introduced in turn the liberal arts colleges each represented, Swarthmore College, Middlebury College, Pomona College, Carlton College, Davidson College, Smith College, Haverford College and Harvey Mudd College. The presentation was terrific, focused and insightful. All G10 students in the AP program and parents attended the presentation and gained insights into one of the best education provided by the liberal arts colleges in the US. After the presentation, students were enthusiastically engaged in discussions and conversations with the admission officers, asking various questions and having interactions with them in groups.
