　　为丰富我校中外人文交流活动，增进学生对不同国家和文化的认识和理解，培养具有国际视野、跨文化交际能力和全球胜任力的国际化人才，我校围绕“世界触手可及”这一主题，通过ZOOM平台先后组织了三次学生跨文化交流活动。来自美国、芬兰、澳大利亚、俄罗斯的友好学校师生与澳门培正中学、南京师范大学附属中学、江苏省天一中学、江苏省苏州中学、徐州市第一中学、江苏省昆山中学、江苏省扬州中学、无锡市第一中学以及我校师生积极参与线上交流活动，并就文化差异、现代技术、知识产权、媒体平台、电子商务、网络欺凌、数据收集和用户隐私等话题进行了热烈讨论和交流分享。我校外教Dr. Bernhart, Thomas Smith 和David Alfaro 精心设计活动环节并成功主持了线上交流系列活动，给大家留下了深刻的印象。

　　活动一：2022年10月28日

　　Differences and Similarities：

　　(1) Sharing a meal might be the best social activity for developing empathy for other people. If you were to plan a shared meal for the participants of this forum，what food and beverages would you serve? Explain your reasoning for selecting these foods and beverages.

　　(2) Many governments in the world seem intent on dividing us into competitive, warring factions. What actions can people take at the grassroots level to promote cooperation and peace among all nations?

　　(3) Differences divide us; similarities unite us; specificities make us interesting. Share a list of similarities and specificities with the other participants of this forum.

学生感悟

　　有幸能参加“The World at Our Fingertips Horizon Program”，我们不仅锻炼了英语表达能力，开阔了眼界，更重要的是能与姐妹学校互相袒露心声，分享感悟。通过小话题的形式，我们在讨论如何发扬各地文化的过程中学会了悦纳和包容，更意识到我们个人对这个社会的责任和担当。尽管我们来自不同的地方，但是我们彼此都坚信，我们会用各自的“特色”来为这个世界增添更多的色彩，我们也会尽最大的努力去将其变得更加美好。

　　全球化是当今世界的主要旋律，不同国家的思想和文化有共同之处，也有各自的特色。对于各国特色的话题，我结合了自己的历史知识，谈到了不同社会对宗教的不同态度，以及宗教在不同国家的发展历程，充分表达了自己的观点。这次活动不仅让我有机会和来自其他学校的同学面对面交流，同时也锻炼了我的英语口语能力，让我受益匪浅。希望今后这类国际性的线上交流活动能在更多的学校之间开展。

　　活动二：2022年11月18日

　　Intercultural Communications：

　　How is Technology changing the international conversation: what aspects of intercultural communications and cultural relativity should be considered when interacting with a global audience?

学生感悟

　　跨文化交流让我们要跨出自己的舒适区，鼓起勇气和不同文化背景的人去交流。这是一个很大的话题，如何得体友善又有效地进行交流值得我们不断学习、探索和尝试。面对文化的碰撞与融合，对不同文化和不同人群的理解和尊重是一切交流的基础。费孝通先生有言：“各美其美，美人之美，美美与共，天下大同”，这也应该成为我们文化交流的规则，不断在文化交流中“取长补短”。

　　今天的跨文化交流主题是“技术改变了沟通”。互联网拉近了来自不同学校和不同国家人们之间的距离，我也在活动中了解了不同地方的传统食物，了解了不同学校对文化的理解差异。每个学校的精彩演讲都给我留下了深刻的印象。作为中国学生，我们的责任是向世界传播中国文化。我们应该尊重不同文化之间的差异，更多地了解其他文化，讲好中国的故事。

　　Innovations and Responsibilities：

　　Given the rapid rise of Tik-Tok(social-media platform)it’s worth unpacking its social, cultural, and educational implications. How has Tik-Tok positively shaped its consumers/users and, broadly speaking,our society? What are the potential opportunities and responsibilities of content creators and media influencers? In the spirit of positive outcomes, what kind of changes should be considered in order to ensure a healthy digital space?

学生感悟

　　文化的碰撞，思维的火花使我豁然开朗。围绕TIK-TOK的积极影响，来自澳大利亚、芬兰、南京、无锡，以及澳门地区的同学们发表了各自的看法。提到TIK-TOK，脑海里浮现的负面影响颇多。但是用辩证的眼光看待，TIK-TOK其实也存在相当大的价值。聆听他人的看法，完善自己的不足，从多维度展开的讨论促进了大家思考问题的角度和模式。

　　偌大的屏幕联系起世界各地，素不相识的面孔因为相同的话题而聚集到一起。当用非母语的语言交流时，我才又一次真正感受到学习一门语言的意义。我们来自不同的地方，用相同的语言共享各自的情感。当下的热门话题，“抖音”和“互联网”的普及带来的影响，让我们暂时地脱离现代生活对网络的习惯性依赖，更客观地思考抖音的存在，以及互联网带来的各方面的影响，提升了我们的批判性思维能力。

　　外教感悟

　　On Oct.28, 2022Dr. Bernhart led a forum that started with a fun ice breaker asking participants to think of a meal that would best suit the context of the forum. He went on to lead a discussion exploring the actions people may take at the grassroots level to promote cooperation and peace among all nations. Ponder how differences divide us, similarities unite us and the specificities that make us interesting, he prompted participants in the forum to share a list of similarities and specificities with each other.

　　On Nov.18,2022, Changzhou Senior Highschool of Jiangsu Province hosted an international conference with our sister schools in Macau, The US, Russia, and various cities in China. However, we started the conversation with a light conversation about ‘foods that most people would not know to try if we visited their country, or province in China, but must try,’ our students engaged in an important discussion on the importance of intercultural communications as technology is connecting cultures in more ways than ever. Each school offered their own cultural perspective and we all learned something new.

　　We are excited as these international conferences have become a series hosted by Changzhou Senior Highschool of Jiangsu Province and inspired by a pedagogical motivation of mental and physical growth. We look forward to our next conversation on Intercultural leadership.

　　On December 5, 2022, students from Nanjing, Wuxi, Finland, Australia, Macau, and Changzhou came together in a zoom meeting room to discuss the social, cultural, and economic implications and responsibilities of Tiktok, the fastest growing Chinese short-form video platform. In the meeting, we discussed unique topics ranging from intellectual property, e-commerce, merchant opportunities,cyber-bullying, harassment, creator and user agreement consequences,predators, social solidarity, individualism,influencer responsibilities, platform moderation capacities, data collection and user-privacy, and platform algorithm modifications.

　　For future collaborations, I think that the format can be modified slightly to allow students discuss the topics in real-time, rather than read directly from a prepared report. For example, students can be broken into individual break-out rooms, and assigned a specific question, that they will report on as a group thereafter, lending to a group discussion rather than allotted presentation time.

　　三次线上交流活动为不同国家、不同文明、不同领域的学生拓宽了交流的渠道，增进了彼此间的友谊，同时也培养了青年一代努力承担建设美好地球家园的责任意识，为推动人类命运共同体而贡献年轻化、多元化的智慧和力量搭建了平台。
